The Chhattisgarh Police, established in 2000 upon the state’s formation, is the law enforcement agency for the state of Chhattisgarh. CG Police is responsible for maintaining law and order, preventing crimes/illegal activities, protecting from insurgency, and public safety. Led by the Director General of Police, CG Police is headquartered in Raipur.

Administrative Structure:

  • DGP Office: Headed by the Director General of Police (DGP), responsible to the Home Department, Govt. of Chhhattisgarh.
  • Ranges: Divided into five police ranges; Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Surguja, and Bastar. Each is headed by a Deputy Inspector General (DIG).
  • Districts: Divided into 33 police districts, each led by a Superintendent of Police (SP). Further, districts are divided into sub-divisions and police stations.

How to File an Online e-FIR or Complaint to Chhattisgarh Police?

Chhattisgarh Police has the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) to report incidents and lodge online complaints/FIRs. If you need to report an incident, you can contact Chhattisgarh Police by the following methods:

The grievance redressal mechanism of CG Police has 3 levels within each administrative division:

1. Within Police Department:

  • Level 1: Superintendent of Police (SP) at District
  • Level 2: Inspector General of Police (IGP) at Range
  • Level 3: Director General of Police (DGP), Chhattisgarh Police

Level 1: File an e-FIR or Complaint, Chhattisgarh Police

2. File an FIR

When filing an FIR with Chhattisgarh Police, provide the following details:
